The Bespoke Dudes for Steve&Co.

TBD: Le cravatte in maglina in tutti i colori, tinta unita e fantasia.

English Version:
S&C: What is style for you, and how would you describe what represents you?
TBD: I would say mine is a continuously evolving classic style. In my opinion, style is a combination of different elements: the ability to match fabrics and colours with the proportions of the designs of course, but above all the way they are worn, being natural and not thinking about what we are wearing, paying tribute to our native ‘arrogance’. Style is also the way we interact with others, the attention you pay to your woman, but also being able to read and write correctly.

S&C: What do you feel is the must-have accessory for next season in men’s fashion?
TBD: Multicoloured, single coloured and patterned knitted ties.

S&C: Are there any icons of the past and present who are muses for you?
TBD: Rather than icons, there are people I know and whose personal style I appreciate. I take hints from each one of them to then restyle them to my design. I love the way Santo Barillà mixes fabrics and garments, the empty hollow shoulders of Valentino and Nicola Ricci, but also Lino Leluzzi’s colours, Giampaolo Alliata’s classic elegance, Luca Rubinacci’s arrogance and my friend and colleague Davide Baroncini’s imaginative combinations.

S&C: Steve & Co. Accessories you prefer?
TBD: Knitted ties, patterned braces with buttonholes, nato straps.

S&C: How would you define the modern gentleman?
TBD: The modern gentleman is an acculturated aesthete, international, humble, polite and aware of what is happening around him.

Un ringraziamento speciale!

Inspiration of the day: Sir Michael Caine

One of the sharpest dressers in 1960s London, Sir Michael Caine eschewed the era’s peacock style in favour of the kind of restrained but energetic tailoring that’s entirely relevant today.

Sir Michael relied on the late tailor Mr Douglas Hayward, but thankfully suits in cuts such as the one above are now more readily available.

He usually match the suit, in black or grey, with knitted silk ties, smart leather belts, amazing watches and, of course, he’s famous glasses for a nerdy chic touch.

The myth of James Dean

James Dean became a household name for his fashion style and trend setting in the 1950s and he was one of the original stars of the silver screen.
He will be remembered for his avant garde style for years to come, for his relaxed and rebel look, his love for fast cars and for danger.
Had he been around for longer no doubt he would have led the way for the bad boy look and brought us even more style inspiration…

The key to James Dean’s look was his relaxed style, that at the time was unheard of for someone of his status and to some it almost looked “scruffy” as he was wearing denim, t-shirts and leather belt with western style.
Like his personality, as a man of few words, Dean’s look was minimalist: a simple shirt, some jeans, a leather belt and a lot of mistery…

Get inspired by James Dean:

- shop shaving set with vintage taste

- shop braided leather belt

- shop western style belt

David Bowie is your favourite Music Style Icon!

Few days ago we’ve asked you what is your favourite Music Style Icon and your answer has been: David Bowie!
David Bowie is not only a simple ‘style icon’, cause he has been an icon in style for so long that he now serves as an icon for other style icons, which gives him a heightened status.

Bowie’s various looks are all part of his wider view of art, theatre, culture and, first of all, he wasn’t be afraid to try something new.
He used to wear slim suits, better if in white color, and a lot of refined details such as untied bow tie, braces and, why not, even a belt in the same outfit.

But the most important thing to remember about his style is: David Bowie always wore the clothes – they never wore him.
