Inspiration of the day: Sir Michael Caine

One of the sharpest dressers in 1960s London, Sir Michael Caine eschewed the era’s peacock style in favour of the kind of restrained but energetic tailoring that’s entirely relevant today.

Sir Michael relied on the late tailor Mr Douglas Hayward, but thankfully suits in cuts such as the one above are now more readily available.

The myth of James Dean

James Dean became a household name for his fashion style and trend setting in the 1950s and he was one of the original stars of the silver screen.
He will be remembered for his avant garde style for years to come, for his relaxed and rebel look, his love for fast cars and for danger.
Had he been around for longer no doubt he would have led the way for the bad boy look and brought us even more style inspiration…

The key to James Dean’s look was his relaxed style, that at the time was unheard of for someone of his status and to some it almost looked “scruffy” as he was wearing denim, t-shirts and leather belt with western style.
Like his personality, as a man of few words, Dean’s look was minimalist: a simple shirt, some jeans, a leather belt and a lot of mistery…

Get inspired by James Dean:

- shop shaving set with vintage taste

- shop braided leather belt

- shop western style belt
