If you still want that confident splash of color on your lapel, but you’re worried that the flower might be a little too dandyish for your tastes, don’t worry, Steve & Co. suggests a new and less eccentric option: a silk knot brooch through the buttonhole on your lapel.
Depending on the season or situation, you can tone down with a low-key, monochromatic knot, or opt for a louder pop with a brighter two-toned affair. The choice is yours.

With both the spring/summer and autumn/winter collections featuring a more vibrant palette, 2011 was definitely the year that menswear began to really accept colour.
2012 is shaping up to be the year where we continue to move from the monotony of the monochrome and cement colour as an integral part of the male wardrobe.
Most of SS12 men’s collections really exhibit blue as a versatile colour, which appeals to everyone.
And we have to admit that the navy suit is the perfect anchor when it comes to a ‘monoblue’ ensemble.
The darker suit allows you to go lighter with your shirt and tie. The accepted rule is to go for a tie that is darker than your shirt but lighter than your suit for maximum effect.
Similarly with socks and pocket squares opt for a lighter shade than the navy backdrop.

Valentine’s Day is coming so here are some worthwhile tips from Steve & Co. that will facilitate the hard choice…
For technology lovers here is the Mobile Phone Holder, a practical accessory to wear around the neck.
A touch of class with the leather PC Case; there is the Unisex Bracelet (steal it from each other!) cotton hand-wove and the Space Pen, invented by Paul Fisher in 1965 is now sold exclusively by Steve & Co. with an elegant leather pen case. The kit includes a pen holder and two pens with black refill (included) plus refill in brown.
Last, but not least, the Steve & Co. Luxury Shaving Set for very refined men: a razor, a pure badger-hair brush, shaving cream and after shaving lotion. A useful object, of course, with an elegant design that becomes a valuable piece of furniture.

Steve & Co. was at Bread & Butter a ‘tradeshow for selected brands’, but mostly an innovative trade fair event for contemporary clothing culture.
The internationally prevailing trade show provides a creative marketing and communication platform for selected brands, labels and designers from the progressive segment that is unrivalled throughout the world.
The brands exhibiting at Bread & Butter present themselves integrally, in keeping with their individual philosophy and within their own brand culture and emotional setting.
But Bread & Butter is also a truly maven for fashionistas, industry people and streetstyle photographers alike. I bet there is no other place in Europe where the cool people per square meter ratio would be higher this week…
We saw very ‘Steve & Co. style’ people featuring bow ties, pins, bandanas and stuff like that…cool!

It’s that time again, time for the ultimate, crazy, glamour, chic menswear tradeshow Pitti Uomo.
Yesterday, Steve & Co. was in Florence to hunt new colors, styles, details, chic outfits, crazy matches and, first of all, the people.
As a matter of fact, the world’s finest names in fashion choose Pitti Uomo as an ideal venue to launch their new collections and special projects and to consolidate their global strategies at the start of the season. There is also a growing demand among the exhibitors to stage special events at the Fortezza, a stunning location for meeting the world’s top buyers and members of the international press.
But what surprise most is the people: so fashionable, you can’t take your eyes off of them…
We took a lot of pictures, here a selection we want to share with you.
Enjoy!

Tangerine Tango, the Pantone color of 2012, is a spirited reddish orange that provides the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.
“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”
Over the past several years, orange has grown in popularity and acceptance among designers and consumers alike and this year Tangerine Tango is especially appealing in men’s and women’s fashion.
Fashion designers featured in the PANTONE Fashion Color Report Spring 2012, are incorporating this attractive orange into their spring collections, and Steve & Co. is using it, too.
A fun, lively take on a traditional autumnal hue, Tangerine Tango will surely carry through to fall fashion as well.

There aren’t all that many fashion accessories for men when one considers the sheer volume that exist for women. And of those that do exist, quite often you find that they’re heavily associated with a sub-culture or movement that you’re simply not interested in associating yourself with.
Brooches for men are, however, one of the few men’s accessories which can cross the sub-culture divides, are perfect for both Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter seasons, and are slowly making a come-back….
Several celebrities have been bringing male jewelry to the forefront, further driving smugger dudes into boutiques and vintage stores looking for the cherry on top of their look.
Steve&Co. suggests colorful and original brooches able to add a stylish touch to your jacket. Steve & Co. brooches are handmade and come in different fabrics and patterns.
