Any problem with tying a knit tie?
According to different sources ‘The Four in Hand Knot‘ is the only correct knot for knit ties.
The Four in Hand Knot makes for a narrow, more discreet and slightly asymmetrical tie knot, so works best with neckties made from heavy and particular fabrics.
To tie the Four in Hand Knot, select a necktie of your choice and stand in front of a mirror. Then simply follow the steps below:

1. The wide end “A” should extend about 12 inches below narrow end “B”. Cross wide end “A” over narrow end “B”.
2. Turn wide end “A” back underneath narrow end “B”.
3. Continue by bringing wide end “A” back over in front of narrow end “B” again.
4. Pull wide end “A” up and through the loop around your neck.
5. Hold the front of the knot loosely with your index finger and bring wide end “A” down through front loop.
6. Remove finger and tighten knot carefully to collar by holding narrow end “B” and sliding the knot up.
That’s it! You will quickly learn to tie this necktie knot in less and less time every time you practice it. Just keep going!

If you’re attending a wedding in the next months here are five style lessons we learnt from what little we could see of the nuptials of Jamie Hince and Kate Moss last july 2011.
1. Light-coloured suiting (a big trend at the recent spring/summer 2012 menswear shows in Milan and Paris) totally works with light-colored accessories like bow-tie, ties, pocket square.
2. A double-breasted suit and pocket square can be casual enough for a pub lunch the day after the big day – so long as they’re worn with a crew-neck T-shirt, modern beard and just the right degree of rumple. (See Jude Law.)
3. Do you have a too formal suit? Give it a modern twist with a studded bow tie, so punk chic.

Steve & Co. shares some tips about what to wear from casual Friday to dinner passing through the boardroom ready being always relevant.
Wear your favorite shirt with brass collar stays: they go under the collar in the appropriate pockets to support it, for a very refined and elegant effect.
Here are the other essentials to survive at the office with an undoubtedly cool and effortless appearance:
- PC leather case
- pocket quare
- a jacket brooch
- leather eyeglass holder
- space pen and pen case

If you still want that confident splash of color on your lapel, but you’re worried that the flower might be a little too dandyish for your tastes, don’t worry, Steve & Co. suggests a new and less eccentric option: a silk knot brooch through the buttonhole on your lapel.
Depending on the season or situation, you can tone down with a low-key, monochromatic knot, or opt for a louder pop with a brighter two-toned affair. The choice is yours.
